Bitwave: pixel camera
Privacy Policy and Terms of Use
Privacy Policy
Bitwave: pixel camera is a pixel-art photo and video filter app for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app may collect and how it is used. The app does not require you to create an account.
Information We Collect
We do not collect account data, names, email addresses, passwords, contacts, or precise location through the app.
The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash diagnostics and app stability information, such as:
- Device type and model
- iOS version
- App version and language settings
- Limited technical state needed to diagnose a crash
- Crash logs and stack traces
This information helps us fix crashes and improve app stability. It is not used for advertising, user tracking, or marketing profiles.
Photos & Videos
Bitwave: pixel camera accesses photos and videos from your device library or camera only when you choose to import, capture, or export content. You remain in control of which media you open and save.
Pixel-art filtering and video processing are performed on your device. Your photos and videos are not uploaded to our servers for processing.
When you save or share edited content, that action uses your device's standard photo library, Files, or share sheet. We do not receive copies of your saved media unless you contact us and choose to share files for support.
Face Data and TrueDepth
On supported devices, Bitwave: pixel camera may access TrueDepth depth data (face-related depth information) while the camera view, background removal, or depth-aware filters are active. This data can indicate the distance between the camera and visible surfaces, including a user's face if a face is in the camera frame.
The app uses TrueDepth depth data (face-related depth information) only to render live visual effects, separate foreground and background areas, and create the rendered photo or video effect selected by the user. Bitwave: pixel camera does not use this data to identify a person, authenticate a user, infer identity, create a face profile, track a user, or build biometric templates.
TrueDepth and face-related depth processing happens on the device. Raw TrueDepth data and face-related depth data are not uploaded to our servers, not shared with third parties, not sold, and not used for advertising or analytics.
Raw TrueDepth frames and face-related depth data are retained only temporarily in memory while the camera preview, capture, recording, or export process is active. Temporary depth frames are cleared when capture or export ends, when the camera session is reset, or when the app is closed. The app does not store raw TrueDepth data or face-related depth data in a database or cloud service.
If you save or share a processed photo or video, the exported media contains only the rendered visual result selected by the user. Raw TrueDepth depth data is not embedded in or stored with exported media, and the app does not create a separate face data record. You can delete saved photos or videos at any time from your device's Photos app or Files app.
Business Model and Paid Content
Bitwave: pixel camera currently does not sell paid digital content, subscriptions, premium filters, or paid accounts in the app. The app does not require an account, and users do not pay a fee to create an account.
If paid features are added in the future, this policy will be updated before those features are made available, and eligible digital content or services will use Apple In-App Purchase where required by App Store rules.
Crash Diagnostics
The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports, stack traces, and limited technical diagnostics when the app crashes or records a non-fatal error.
Crash diagnostics are used only to fix bugs, improve stability, and understand technical failure conditions. We do not use this data for advertising, user tracking, marketing profiles, or selling personal information.
Third-Party Services
The app relies on Apple services, including the App Store, Photo Library access, Camera access, and system share features. The app also uses Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google, for crash reporting and stability diagnostics.
Apple services are governed by Apple's privacy practices and your device settings. Firebase Crashlytics data is processed by Google/Firebase according to Firebase's data processing and privacy practices.
Data Retention
We retain only the limited information needed to operate and improve the app. Crash diagnostics may be kept for a reasonable period to investigate and fix stability issues, then deleted or aggregated according to Firebase/Google retention settings.
Your photos and videos remain on your device unless you delete them. Raw TrueDepth data and face-related depth data are not stored by the app after the active camera, capture, recording, or export process ends. If you contact us for support, we retain correspondence only as long as needed to respond and resolve your request.
